Yesterday, I bought the materials to start on the casual Loli Anya. Normally, without my sewing machine, I wouldn't do this. But, ~Futag0-chan has one that's very similar to mine, so I can walk over to her place and use it. *cries tears of joy* I owe her my life! I started cutting the pieces last night, and didn't buy enough pink. >_<

I chose a very light pink sateen for the dress, (not sure what else it's mixed with. @_@) red velvet for the jacket, and green velvet for the bow. I worried that the shinyness of the pink would be too much, since with Lolita fashion you're really supposed to stay away from shiny fabrics, but I think it's very pleasant. As long as no one's taking pictures with flash, it should be okay.

Oh right, I think I'm going to Mokucon, at Rutgers! It's a one day, free admission con at the uni, which many people have told me is the big hang-out con. You just go and hang out. X3 There will be panels and things though, so I'm excited. If I can finish it in time, I'll wear the casual Anya there. Then it will really be like she's going to a school festival! Plus, some of the people I know are doing a little Code Geass group, maybe they won't mind if I wear Anya! I hope not.

These people, I'm reluctant to say that they're my friends, because they've been doing this for so much longer and are so much more skilled than I am, so even though we talk and hug and things, (and I've been to some of their houses o_o) I wonder if they consider me a friend. I don't feel like I'm allowed to be friends with beautiful, talented people like this. Maybe their definition of 'friend' is a little looser than mine, I don't know! I guess that to me, they're a lot like celebrities, so it's weird for me to say something like, "Oh yeah *fill in celebrity name* and I are friends!"

I guess that there are different kinds of friends though. I'd be very embarrassed to come to one of them if I have a problem, but they're always very kind and supportive when I rant on LJ. And you can be friends with someone without talking about your problems, right? I don't really have any problems right now, but if I'm really upset about something, I'd probably try to hide it from them, and not get them involved with my silly issues. They don't involve me in theirs either. But that's probably a good thing, it's easier to just have fun together if you're not worrying about each other.

Ahhh, I'm thinking too much again, it's depressing! Do you ever wonder who your friends really are?
